Question:121 Mr. Power asked the Minister for Justice when the vacancy for the position of Garda sergeant in Castledermot. County Kildare will be filled. [17091/96]

The deployment of Garda personnel and resources to individual areas is a matter for the Garda authorities. They have informed me that the sergeant allocated to Castledermot Garda station retired on 15 August 1996 and that they propose to fill this vacancy as soon as possible with due regard to the need to fill similar vacancies in other divisions.
