Vol. 470 No. 3

Written Answers. - Dublin School Extension.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

112 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Education the current stage of the planned new classroom development at a secondary school (details supplied) in Dublin 13; and if she will expedite the provision of funding for this development. [18923/96]

An application was received in my Department some time ago for the replacement of temporary accommodation with a permanent extension at the school referred to by the Deputy. A schedule of accommodation was agreed and the appointment of a design team approved. A preliminary site report has been requested.

A review of the project is currently being carried out in my Department. This is usual in all cases involving the provision of permanent accommodation. My Department will be in contact with the school authorities as soon as this review is completed. The commencement of construction is dependent on the successful completion of architectural planning and the availability of funding at that time.
