Question:150 Mr. Hyland asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the urgency of providing new post-primary facilities in Portlaoise, County Laois; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [23938/96]
Written Answers. - Post-Primary Facilities.
I am aware that some of the existing post-primary school accommodation in Portlaoise is less than satisfactory and needs replacement.
My Department is at present considering the future development of post-primary education facilities in Portlaoise in the light of applications from two of the schools there for replacement and-or additional accommodation.
I will consider what further action may be appropriate when this review has been completed.
