The resale scheme to dispose of the turbary rights in this case has not yet been finalised. As per my reply to the Deputy's parliamentary question on 25 September 1996, the interest of the person concerned will be considered by the commissioners when the resale scheme is submitted to them for approval. The allocation and extinguishment of turbary rights by the Land Commission are matters reserved by law to the commissioners and as such I have no direct involvement.
I understand from inquiries made at the Central Bank that the individual concerned was forwarded a redemption request form in 1989 when the decision to redeem all land bonds was taken. This form was signed by the bond holder and returned to the Central Bank together with the stock certificate. The individual's bonds were then redeemed for cash.
