87 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Health the reason the mother and infant scheme is still awaiting development along the lines proposed by his Department's own committee; if he will give details of this scheme; and the plans, if any, he has to make the scheme more widely known. [10698/97]

Limerick East): Following the launch of the Plan for Women's Health on 9 April 1997, the report of the Maternity and Infant Care Scheme Review Group was made available. The report has now been widely circulated and my Department is considering the implementation of its recommendations.
