Vol. 485 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Jim Higgins

Question:

212 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for an urgently required angiogram. [22967/97]

I understand from the Mater Hospital that the person in question is on the waiting list for an angiogram. The hospital has informed me that every effort will be made to admit this person in January 1998.

John Perry

Question:

213 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be called for his operation in view of the length of time that he is on the waiting list and the extent of surgery required. [22968/97]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Sligo is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
