Vol. 486 No. 1

Written Answers. - Buckley Report.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

66 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Finance when he will implement the Buckley report on remuneration in the public service and particularly for chief executive officers of commercial semi-State companies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22769/97]

Derek McDowell

Question:

104 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Finance when he proposes to have the Buckley report on pay and remuneration in the public sector and commercial semi-State companies agreed to by Government, which will enable a number of semi-State boards to complete their recruitment programmes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1936/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 66 and 104 together.

No decision has been taken by the Government in relation to implementing the recommendations of this report. The question of implementation is, however, being kept under review.
