350 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the progress, if any, made with the EU Commission regarding the new dairy hygiene scheme; when he will publish the eligibility criteria; and when the scheme will be launched. [1467/99]
My Department is in the process of finalising details of the new nationally funded scheme for the improvement of dairy hygiene standards. The terms and conditions of the new scheme will require the approval of the EU Commission before it can come into operation. I expect that a submission will be made to the Commission early in February and the scheme will be launched when the necessary approval is obtained.
