Question:

287 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to an extension to a primary school (details supplied) in County Kildare; if his Department's inspector's report on the proposed extension has been examined and approved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6650/00]

An application from the management authorities of the school in question for additional accommodation is being dealt with as quickly as possible by my Department having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department.

At this stage it is not possible to say the extent of the accommodation to be provided.

288 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the position in relation to the provision of a new primary school for Coralstown, Mullingar, County Westmeath; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6681/00]

The position is that my Department has commenced architectural planning for the provision of a new three classroom school at Coralstown, County Westmeath.
