Vol. 526 No. 3

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

170 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if he will take appropriate action to speed up the completion of the comprehensive consultancy study of the infrastructural needs at Dunmore East Harbour, County Waterford; if he will take immediate action on receiving the study to make good the deficit in the harbour's structures; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26813/00]

I am advised that the consultancy study concerned is at an advanced stage. It is due to be completed before the end of the year.

The recommendations made will be addressed in the context of the national development plan 2000-2006 which makes a substantial provision of £60 million for the development of fishery harbours and related facilities.
