Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Dick Spring

Question:

86 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Finance the number of responses he received in relation to his request for suitable sites for a Garda Station in Castleisland, County Kerry; and when he expects the building to commence. [2921/02]

The Commissioners of Public Works advertised their requirements in Castleisland, County Kerry, in the local and national newspapers. The closing date for receipt of replies is 31 January, 2002. To date, the commissioners have been notified of six possible options. All options received will be assessed in light of the requirements of the Garda in Castleisland. It is not possible at this stage to say when construction of the new building will commence.
