Adjournment Debate. - Schools Building Projects.

Fergus O'Dowd

Question:

202 Mr. O'Dowd asked the Minister for Education and Science the position regarding the proposed replacement of the Sacred Heart School, Drogheda, County Louth; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17994/02]

In advance of making a capital investment in the Sacred Heart School, Drogheda, County Louth, and consistent with standard practice, the planning section of my Department has been asked to assess the school's long-term viability. This analysis is currently taking place.

As soon as it is completed, officials in the building unit of my Department will be in direct contact with the school's managerial authority to discuss the recommendations put forward in the feasibility study carried out on the school buildings.
