Vol. 561 No. 1

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Finian McGrath

Question:

253 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if a person (details supplied) with spina bifida at Scoil Íde, Watermill Road, Raheny, Dublin 5, will get the back-up service they urgently need to assist their integration and ensure that they can pursue their education without hindrance. [3213/03]

I wish to advise the Deputy that a special needs assistant is in place since September 2002 to cater for the care needs of the person in question. The duties of special needs assistants include assistance with toileting.
