Vol. 571 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Programmes.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

200 Mr. O'Shea asked the Taoiseach the specific allocation of his staff whose principal duty is to ensure that his Department is effectively engaged with RAPID communities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21387/03]

My Department has no direct function in relation to the implementation of projects and programmes at local level under the RAPID programme and therefore has no role in engaging directly with RAPID communities. Consequently, no member of my staff has been assigned this task among his or her principal duties.

My Department is represented on the national monitoring committee which oversees the operation of the programme and which is the responsibility of the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs.
