I ask Members to extend a warm céad míle fáilte to Ms Louise B. Halfe, Poet Laureate of the Canadian Parliament, and her colleagues, Mr. Joseph Naytowhow and Mr. Brian Solomon. They are accompanied by Ambassador Nancy Smyth and Ms Halfe’s husband, Mr. Peter Butt. Also in the Distinguished Visitors Gallery, we have members of the Lucht Fáiltithe group who are facilitating Ms Halfe’s visit to Ireland. They are being very carefully looked after by our colleague, Deputy David Stanton, who is chair of the parliamentary friendship group for Canada.
