Vol. 290 No. 4

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:Senator Ollie Crowe - The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on mandatory minimum sentencing for attacks on emergency services workers.Senator Seán Kyne - The need for the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science to make a statement on plans by Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board for a new and expanded further education training campus in Galway city.Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works to provide an update on the provision of a new coastguard station at Courtown Harbour, County Wexford.Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the recent outbreak of bird flu.Senator Lynn Boylan - The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the measures being taken to assist landlords and tenants in reducing greenhouse gas emissions in rental accommodation by amending legislation to prevent landlords from prohibiting the drying of clothes outdoors in rental agreements in light of his obligations under section 15(1)(e) of the Climate Acts 2015-2021.Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the measures being taken to alleviate pressures on GPs.Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Ollie Crowe, Seán Kyne, Malcolm Byrne and Tim Lombard and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Lynn Boylan on the ground that the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. Senator Maria Byrne may give notice on another day of the matter that she wishes to raise.
