View answerThe only programme under the remit of my Department and its agencies which is funded, or co-funded, by the European Union is the Tourism Product Development Scheme. The scheme is managed by Fáilte Ireland and is co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Tourism Measures (Local Enterprise Priority)of the two Regional Operational Programmes (NDP 2000-2006). The "Paying Authority" for the scheme is the Department of Finance which channels the relevant EU funds directly to Fáilte Ireland. As such, no EU funds are allocated directly to my Department.
