Deputy Simon Harris asked the Minister for Education and Skills the actions he proposes to take to ensure that there are adequate primary school places in an area (details supplied) for this September; the number of primary school places that are available in that area; the number of children that will be in need of a school place in that area this September based on data his Department uses to project such things; if his Department has been in discussion with the primary school in the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Officials from my Department have ongoing contact with the school in the area to which the Deputy refers. The situation is being monitored to ensure that there are enough school places for children in the area in September 2014.
