Deputy Clare Daly asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of prisoners classified as protection prisoners by each prison and place of detention on the day of the census of restricted regime prisoners in January 2018 and on the day of the census of restricted regime prisoners in April 2018, in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerI am advised by my officials in the Irish Prison Service that the statistics concerning prisoners classified as protection prisoners by each prison and place of detention on the day of the Census of Restricted Regime Prisoners in January 2018 and on the day of the Census of Restricted Regime Prisoners in April 2018 are available on the Irish Prison Service website, www.irishprisons.ie, under Information Centre – Statistics & Information – Census Reports.
