I understand that the Deputy has submitted the same question to my colleague, the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth who has policy responsibility for disability and equality matters.
I understand that the Equal Status Acts 2000-2018 prohibit discrimination in the provision of goods and services on the basis of gender, marital status, family status, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, religion, and membership of the Traveller community. Where a consumer believes that pricing practices are discriminatory in nature, based on the grounds set out in the Equal Status Acts, they can obtain information on how to proceed on the website of the Workplace Relations Commission which deals with all complaints of discrimination in access to goods and services.
