317. Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health the average length of time it takes to approve an EMA-approved medicine for reimbursement in Ireland, from receipt of application for reimbursement to actual approval; how this compares with EU counterparts; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The HSE has statutory responsibility for medicine pricing and reimbursement decisions, under the Health (Pricing and Supply of Medical Goods) Act 2013; therefore, the matter has been referred to the HSE for attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
