Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Transport what actions the Road Safety Authority plans to take to reduce the long waiting times in queues on the MyRoadSafety portal where a driving test applicant wants to book any of the cancelled short notice slots; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Road Safety Authority Act 2006, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has statutory responsibility for the National Driver Testing Service. I have therefore referred the Deputy's question to the RSA for direct, detailed response in relation to the specific case raised.

I would ask the Deputy to contact my office if a response has not been received within ten days.

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Order 51.
