The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs has published its report on the delegation to counties Cavan, Westmeath, Meath and Monaghan. The purpose of the meetings was to give members practical and hands-on experience and allow them to gather first-hand evidence.
Committee members met with groups and individuals from the four rural areas that would be representative of rural areas around the country.
The topics discussed at the meetings were “what it takes to sustain a viable rural community” and “the future of community, social and economic development and co-operation in Border counties”.
