The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine has published a report on its pre-legislative scrutiny of the general scheme of the greyhound industry Bill 2017.
The committee sought submissions from a range of organisations representative in broad terms of the industry and of animal welfare. A number of other organisations made written submissions to the committee.
Among the key issues addressed in the general scheme of the Greyhound Racing Bill are: administrative sanctions for breach of greyhound racing rules; animal welfare; export of greyhounds; and doping.
