Sub Committee to discuss Child and Family Agency Bill 2013

Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Francis Fitzgerald TD will attend the meeting of the Sub Committee on Children and Youth Affairs tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd October 2013, for the committee stage of the Child and Family Agency Bill 2013.

Committee Chairman, Jerry Buttimer TD said: “Legislation establishing the Child and Family Agency was recently published and will come before the Sub-Committee tomorrow. Under the legislation, child and family services will be the focus of a single dedicated State agency. Our Committee recently met with Norah Gibbons Chairperson Designate of the board of the agency to discuss what she sees as the priorities and challenges for the agency in the immediate period ahead and into the future. Tomorrow, the Bill will receive detailed consideration and members will have the opportunity to propose and discuss amendments to the legislation as published.”

The meeting will start at 5.15pm in Committee Room 2, Leinster House tomorrow, Tuesday, 22nd October 2013.
