7 Dec 2015, 16:39

The Select Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation will convene tomorrow to consider Committee Stage of the Credit Guarantee (Amendment) Bill 2015. They will meet with Minister of State with Special Responsibility for Business and Employment, Gerald Nash TD.

07 December 2015

The meeting will commence at 1.30 pm in Committee Room 2 tomorrow, Tuesday, 8 December 2015.

Committee Chair, Marcella Corcoran Kennedy TD said, “This important piece of legislation proposes to amend the Credit Guarantee Act of 2012 in order to make the Credit Guarantee Scheme more attractive and more aligned with the SME finance market. As a Committee we have examined the availability of finance to the SME sector quite closely in the past and so we welcome the opportunity to meet with Minister Nash tomorrow.”

“Committee stage debate allows us to fully engage with the Minister on the practicalities of proposed legislation and this Bill, which aims to increase the take-up and impact of the Credit Guarantee Scheme, is intended to encourage and grow those who need the scheme the most.”
