Good Friday Committee to discuss Brexit’s effect on Peace Process and situation in Northern Ireland

The Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 26 January at 2:15pm in Committee Room 2, Leinster House.

The Committee will continue its examination the implications of Brexit for the Good Friday Agreement and its Institutions.

Mr. Tom Arnold, Director General, Institute of International and European Affairs, will address the Committee.
Committee Chairperson, Kathleen Funchion TD said, “With just five weeks to go until the Assembly elections, there is a real sense of urgency around the need to bring stability back to the institutions in the North. Our meeting tomorrow will continue our examination of the impact Brexit could have on the Good Friday Agreement, but discussion will also inevitably turn to how the current political situation in the North is affecting the agreement.”
