Minister Coveney to brief Good Friday Committee on developments in Northern Ireland

22 Nov 2017, 12:16

Minister Simon Coveney will appear before the Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement tomorrow at 2.15pm in Committee Room 2, Leinster House.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Chair Seán Crowe said today, “Our meeting tomorrow is a significant one as it marks the first time Minister Coveney has addressed the Committee since taking office. The Minister will engage with us on matters relating to the North of Ireland and the implications of the break-down of talks to form an Executive, as well as the Brexit negotiations and implications for the Good Friday Agreement. There have been ongoing and significant developments in relation to Brexit and the government’s efforts to restore the devolved institutions in the North. As a Committee, we look forward to receiving an update from the Minister on these hugely important matters.”
