Communications, Climate Action and Environment Committee to continue hearings on Petroleum and Other Minerals Development (Amendment) (Climate Emergency Measures) Bill 2018

The Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment will continue its detailed scrutiny of the Petroleum and Other Minerals Development (Amendment) (Climate Emergency Measures) Bill 2018 at its meeting on Tuesday, 10 July.

The Bill provides for the amendment of the Petroleum and Other Minerals Development Act 1960, to ensure regard is had to national and global environmental considerations including the annual average global temperature, the monthly mean level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and other matters, when issuing licences, undertakings and leases under the Petroleum and Other Minerals Development Act 1960 and to provide for related matters.

Appearing before the Committee are:

Representatives from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI)
Representatives from Gas Networks Ireland
Representatives from Oil Change International
Representatives from Zero Carbon Britain
