The Joint Committee on Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht will explore the many ways that the arts enrich Irish life on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 1:30 p.m.
Scheduled witnesses include
- Garry Hynes, artistic director of the Druid Theatre
- Philip King, musician and filmmaker
- Br. Mark Patrick Hederman, former abbot of Glenstal Abbey School
- Theo Dorgan, poet and writer
“Our witnesses represent some of the finest creative minds in Ireland today,” said Committee Chairman Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD. “The Committee looks forward to assessing the value of the arts in Ireland today and discussing how we as a society can best nurture individual and communal creativity in our digitised, interconnected world.”
