Minister and Minister for State meet with Education Committee

The meeting will be broadcast from Committee Room 4 at 4:30 pm.

Speaking in advance of the meeting, Cathaoirleach, Paul Kehoe TD, said: “With the majority of primary and secondary schools now open again,  the Committee is anxious to hear from the Minister and Minister of State on how the reopening is progressing and how challenges are being met.

The Cathaoirleach added: “In addition, we will address the outstanding issues regarding Life Centre Cork including recognition for the Centre, sustainable funding and importantly, the allocation of teaching posts. At the launch of the Committee Report on School Bullying and Impact on Mental Health this August,  the Committee committed to ensuring that the 10 key recommendations are implemented as expeditiously as possible and that the issues raised in this report be the subject of a debate in both Houses of the Oireachtas. The Committee looks forward to discussing how the key recommendations can be implemented.”

The Joint Committee on Education, Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
