Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage to resume discussions on ‘Housing for All’

17 Apr 2023, 16:30

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 18 April, with officials from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage to resume discussions on ‘Housing for All’.

Ahead of the meeting at 3pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Steven Matthews said: “This meeting with the Department officials continues our examination of ‘Housing for All’, the Government’s programme to deliver social, affordable and cost rental homes up to 2030. We have previously heard from local authorities across the country, including in the main cities and other urban areas, as well as from approved housing bodies.

“Members now look forward to hearing the Department’s views on the progress made in delivering Housing for All as well as matters raised in our engagements with stakeholders. The Committee will then consider the evidence we have heard on the progress being made with ‘Housing for All’ and the issues raised during our meetings and will publish a report in due course on our recommendations and conclusions.”

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

The meetings in Committee Room 3 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
