Vol. 356 No. 10

Written Answers. - Galway Roads.

535.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a submission from Galway Corporation seeking financial assistance towards the cost of providing a service road to the front of houses at Clareview Park, Ballybane, Galway city; and, if so, when a decision will be made on the submission.

An application for a special capital allocation towards the provision of accommodation roads at Clareview Park, Ballybane, was submitted to my Department by Galway Corporation on 29 November 1984. However, in view of the existing high demand for local authority housing, the length of time (about ten years) since the housing scheme in question was built and the nature of the work involved, the corporation were informed on 23 January that capital could not be made available for the purpose envisaged.
