asked the Minister for Health when a person (details supplied) in County Cork who is very seriously ill will be granted a medical card due to his medical circumstances.

Eligibility for a medical card is a matter for the chief executive officer of a health board. In this instance I am informed that the application was approved on 24 February 1985 and the medical card was issued on 6 March. This card is effective for six months.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was not granted renewal of her medical card and if he will have the matter reviewed.

Eligibility for a medical card is a matter for the chief executive officer of a health board. In this instance I am informed that the application was approved on 4 January 1985 and the medical card was issued on 9 January 1985. This card is effective until April 1986.
