Question:

117 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the operational reasons a prisoner (details supplied) cannot be transferred to Mountjoy for personal and family reasons; when these problems will be overcome; when the prisoner can expect to be transferred; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It would be contrary to established practice to disclose particulars of operational considerations applying in relation to individual prisoners. I am aware of the special family circumstances existing in the case referred to in the question and while I cannot agree to a transfer at this time I will keep the matter under review.
