Vol. 478 No. 1

Written Answers. - Redress of Wrongs Applications.

Tony Gregory

Question:

263 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Defence when a decision will be made on the appeal or redress of wrongs of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7. [10663/97]

The position is that I have received an application for redress of wrongs from the person concerned. Under section 114 of the Defence Act, 1954, I am required, having inquired into an application for redress, to give my directions thereon. I have found it necessary to seek legal advice on a specific aspect of the case. When this is received and my inquiry into the application has been completed, I will communicate my decision to the applicant, through the normal military channels, as quickly as possible.
