Written Answers. - College of Music.

Mary Upton

Question:

275 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the changes (details supplied) in enrolment at the College of Music, Dublin Institute of Technology, which makes it harder for young people to avail of music classes at the college; if he has been in touch with the college; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3512/03]

The Dublin Institute of Technology is a statutory body established under the Dublin Institute of Technology Act 1992. Under that Act, the governance and day to day activities of the institute are matters for which the governing body and the management staff of the institute are responsible. This includes decisions in relation to the operation and management of the Dublin Institute of Technology School of Music.
