Following the appointment of an Taoiseach Simon Harris TD along with other Ministers of the Government, a new Delegation of Functions Order is required to formally delegate certain statutory functions to the Minister of State for Transport, Jack Chambers TD.

The OPC has worked closely with the Department of Transport in finalising this draft Order. The functions delegated therein are identical to those in the previous such Order (SI 211/2023) with minor additions included in the Schedule of the draft Order, to take account of more recent legislation, which underpin the functions to be delegated to the Minister of State.

The Air Navigation (Carriage of Munitions of War, Weapons and Dangerous Goods) Orders 1973 and 1989 were included in SI 211 of 2023 and will be included in the updated order.
