Vol. 260 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry School.

32.

asked the Minister for Finance if Kerry County Council has granted planning permission for a new school at the Glen, Emlaghmore, County Kerry; and, if so, the date on which permission was received.

By order dated 24th April, 1972 the Kerry County Council decided to grant planning permission for the erection of this school. The grant of permission cannot, however, be issued by the council for a period of at least there weeks from the date of the order.

Has the Parliamentary Secretary received a copy of the planning permission and, if so, why did he not state that in reply to a Parliamentary Question on Tuesday, 2nd May?

People have a right to appeal against the planning decision and until the grant of permission has been issued to the Office of Public Works the erection of this school is not authorised.

The Parliamentary Secretary has not answered my question. Did he receive a copy of the planning permission from the Kerry County Council? When he replied to a Parliamentary Question on 2nd May he said he was awaiting planning permission.

That is right.

He did not give the full facts to the House.

I was awaiting it on 2nd May.

He got a document from the Kerry County Council and he should have said that in the reply.

I got it since.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary tell me what size this school will be?

That is a separate question. The question deals with planning permission and nothing else.

My supplementary question arises directly out of it.

It does not arise directly or indirectly.

The Ceann Comhairle should not intrude in this fashion.

(Interruption.)
