asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state for the last year for which such calculation has been made, (1) the value of the gross output of agriculture indicating the value of that output (a) consumed by the agricultural community in the Saorstát; (b) consumed or utilised by others in the Saorstát; (c) exported; (d) shown as stock increase; and (2) the value at retail prices of (a) animal food; (b) fertilisers; and (c) seeds purchased by farmers in the same year.

The last inquiry made by my Department into agricultural output was in 1929-30. The desired particulars regarding agricultural output in that year were published in the Statistical Abstract for 1934, and the desired particulars regarding the value of materials purchased by farmers were published in the Report on the Census of Industrial Production, 1926 and 1929.
Can the Minister say when it is contemplated to make another such calculation?
One is being made in respect of the year 1934-5, but the results will not be available before next year.
