Vol. 59 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Relief Work in Shankill.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state what relief work, if any, has been allotted to the Shankill district, County Dublin, for the winter season.

No relief work has so far been allotted to the district named for the coming winter; nor has any proposal been received.

If a suitable scheme is submitted it will receive, in common with schemes for other areas, consideration on its merits, and with relation to the actual unemployment position at the time.

Arising out of the Parliamentary Secretary's reply, is there not an epidemic at present in the district due to the absence of sanitation, and does he not think that that would be a suitable subject on which to spend money?

That was not the question on the Order Paper.
