Vol. 113 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Legal Adoption of Children.

Mr. Byrne

asked the Minister for Justice whether he intends at an early date to introduce proposals for legislation to meet the growing demand for legal adoption of children.

This matter is still under consideration.

Mr. Byrne

Is the Minister aware that he said the same thing the first week he was in office? May I ask what progress has been made, in view of the growing demand for the legal adoption of children?

I am aware that it is the fact, but I suggest that the Deputy might repeat his question in about three weeks' time when there may be a bit of a change.

Is the Deputy not lucky that the Minister says the same thing to-day as he said nine months ago?
