Vol. 119 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supplies for County Dublin.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that there is no water supply in Donabate and Lusk; and, if so, whether he will consider making a recommendation to the local authority to have this much-needed supply made available.

The village of Lusk is at present served by public pumps; proposals for the provision of a piped water supply are being prepared by the local authority. Donabate is also supplied by public pumps. The method by which a piped supply may be provided for this area will, I understand, be considered by the local authority in due course.

Is there any possibility that this long-delayed regional water scheme will ever materialise?

How long has it been delayed?

Sixteen years plus two and a half years.

Deputy Burke only became aware of it now.
