I have had representations from a number of sources for the amendment of the National Teachers' Superannuation (Amendment) scheme, 1950, so as to provide a retiring allowance for national teachers who were pensioned prior to the 1st January, 1950, and I have recently met a deputation from the Central Executive Committee of the Pensioned Teachers' Association in the matter.
This question is at present receiving careful consideration, and an announcement of the Government's decision will not be long delayed.
