Vol. 127 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Use of Granite in Houses.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in order to assist the granite industry, he will urge local authorities erecting houses in areas in proximity to granite quarries to include in the specifications a clause specifying a minimum quantity of granite for these houses.

Housing authorities have already been recommended to use stone window-sills, lintels and door-steps where the increased cost involved is not significant, that is, generally, in areas where stone-cutting is carried out.
