Vol. 127 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sub-Post Office Telephones.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether, in view of the fact that public telephones erected within sub-post offices in Cork City districts are not available to the public when these offices are closed, he will have them erected outside the buildings where they would be available to the public for the full 24-hour service.

Public telephones with 24-hour service are available in the standard street kiosks provided throughout Cork City. These kiosks are reasonably adequate for public requirements during the hours when post offices are closed and adoption of the Deputy's proposal, which incidentally would involve certain practical difficulties, is not warranted.
