Vol. 164 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Cottages.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he will be in a position to sanction tenders for the erection of cottages by the Waterford County Council.

Sanction issued on the 3rd instant to the proposal of the Waterford County Council to accept tenders for the erection of four rural cottages. Approval to the acceptance of tenders for 33 further cottages was refused as the tender prices were altogether excessive being, on average, more than £200 per cottage higher than the prices obtaining in other areas for similar cottages. The further proposals of the housing authority in the matter are awaited.
