Vol. 201 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Law Library Hall.

12.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance whether, having regard to the inadequate seating accommodation in the hall outside the Law Library, Four Courts, Dublin, he will have at least another dozen chairs supplied there at an early date.

13.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received any representations from the Bar Council or the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland regarding the shortage of seating accommodation in the hall outside the Law Library, Four Courts, Dublin; and, if so, when, and what action he proposes to take in the matter.

14.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance if he will have the notices bearing the words ná caith tobac anso —smoking strictly prohibited removed from the hall outside the Law Library, Four Courts, Dublin; and if he will have an ample supply of ash trays provided there having regard to the fact that it is apparent by the number of people who smoke in the hall that the prohibition against smoking is not respected.

16.

Mr. Ryan

asked the Minister for Finance if he will have the benches in the hall outside the Law Library, Four Courts, Dublin returned to the tables where they formerly were.

I propose, with the permission of An Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 12, 13, 14 and 16 together.

I am advised that the hall or ante-room of the Law Library forms part of the accommodation in the Four Courts which is occupied by and under the control of the General Council of the Bar of Ireland. I am also advised that the provision and disposition of furniture and regulations in regard to smoking in the ante-room are matters for the Council.

The Bar Council?

That is interesting.
