Vol. 271 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Unsolicited Goods and Services Act.

155.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will consider the introduction of legislation similar to the Unsolicited Goods and Services Act, 1971, of the UK.

I intend to consider the necessity for such legislation in the context of consumer protection legislation generally when I have received the general report on this subject from the National Consumer Advisory Council.

May I ask the Minister if the Government intend to take any action regarding the distribution of unsolicited contraceptives that are being sent through the post now?

As you are aware, a Leas-Cheann Comhairle, the Government will shortly be introducing legislation in that area.
