asked the Minister for Finance (a) the total area of office accommodation rented by his Department and unoccupied at present; (b) the rental per square foot for this accommodation; (c) the Departmental Semi-State bodies who will occupy these office blocks; and (d) the dates on which it is proposed to occupy each office block.

: The following tabular statement gives the details requested by the Deputy excepting the rental figure per square foot of each premises. This is confidential information between the parties to the leases. The average overall rental per square foot per annum of the premises listed is £6.84.

asked the Minister for Finance the total annual rental paid by his Department for office accommodation in (a) Dublin city, (b) the rest of the county and (c) the total paid in the country.

: The annual amount payable in respect of rented office premises occupied by Government Departments, with the exception of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs which acquires its own accommodation, is as follows: (a) Dublin city, £9,369,256; (b) the rest of County Dublin, £2,530; (c) the rest of the country, £1,194,923.
